Retail Energy Revealed was founded by Laurel Peltier, an energy advocate and writer based in Maryland.
As Chair of the Maryland Energy Advocates Coalition, Laurel pushed Maryland to reform the residential retail energy market and level the playing field. In 2024, Maryland’s state legislature passed SB1.
Laurel works directly with Maryland limited-income families in utility crisis. Since 2014, she’s helped thousands of BGE families manage their utility bills.
Laurel attended UCLA and graduated from UVA’s Darden MBA Program in 1991. After years in consumer brand management and then taking time off to raise a family, she has worked in the consumer energy world.
